The five secrets you must discover before you die
By John Izzo
This was Bel's gift to me last Christmas. When I unwrapped her gift, I saw the word "die" and I thought "how morbid!" But, I placed the book on my bedside table anyway. Recently, I was down with a very bad cold and found myself spending a lot of time in bed. One day, I picked up the book and was so pleasantly surprised! It is full of interesting anecdotes on life from regular people.
For example: Ken, the town barber in a small town in Iowa, has been cutting hair and listening to the life stories of his customers for over 40 years. He said:
"... I have attended a great many funerals. What I have noticed is that there are ten-minute funerals and there are ten-hour funerals. Some people live a life that touches so many people in a postive way that people just want to hang around and talk about that person's life. Other people live a more self-focused life and this does not happen. It seems to me you should live your life as if you want a ten-hour funeral."
This is definitely a book worth reading.
Bel, many thanks!
