I did it!

I did it! Today, I run 10k... no stops!

I started training 5 weeks ago: initially, by running 5k or so 2 or 3 times a week. In the last two weeks going into the Unicef Charity Run, I did one 5k, one 7k, and two 8k runs. So, I was quite certain that I could cover 10k in an hour and 15 minutes. (I usually run between 7.5 - 8.5 kph on my treadmill.) Today, I learnt that it is not that easy to maintain one's speed in a crowd of several hundred runners. At my rather slow pace, I was even a hazard to the half-marathoners who, when they got to the last 3km, were practically flying towards the finish line. I will know on Wednesday how I clocked in (most likely, a little above the target) -- but, nevermind, I am happy that I've done it! (My personal time 1:16:18 -- just a minute and 18 seconds above target.)

If I could... I would love to reward myself with this dress by Preen. I love Preen! Maybe, someday....

  1. congratulations, missy! we're turning on a new and better leaf in 2010 --- sporty activities! hahaha. we'll think of a hiking trail to do in late january/early february, what do you say? :)

that dress is wonderful and would look great on you. i think the black 'stripes' are made of thin fabric (organza, perhaps) that's been folded and laid on top of the coffee-colored base fabric. the hem is the inverse naman: the thin fabric has been overlaid on the pre-pleated base fabric. cool :)

  3. Thanks, Soy!

No budget for the dress as the spare resources have been taken up by you-know-what!

And, yes,I will indeed send a pix to you-know-who!
