If I were in Manila on 5 August, I would have made it a point to honor the late President Aquino by personally joining the crowd of people that lined the streets of Manila that day. My friends Mayk and Pia de Guzman were among those gathered in the Quirino to Skyway area. Mayk shared some pictures via FB. And, I thank him for the following pictures:

People waiting patiently in the rain for the funeral procession (Filipinos have gone french and say "cortege" these days)
Salamat Tita Cory

The "Laban sign" which evolved into "We love you, Tita Cory"

The events of the past few weeks (especially the last few days) and these pictures tell us that, at the end of the day, the Filipino people continue to believe and admire simplicity, honesty, humility, integrity, faithfulness, and self-sacrifice in their leaders.
President Aquino is gone but her legacy lives on. Personally, I would like to learn from her example. Because, it is now up to us to love our country and to help each other.
