Weddings

I love weddings! In fact, whenever I am invited to one, I almost always say "yes" straight away even if it means travelling quite a distance. In the past two years, I've been to seven: one each in Hong Kong, New York and Shanghai and two each in Bali and Manila. While it is always a pleasure to look at the radiant bride, I actually look more at the man. I like it when he is serious, just a little nervous, but obviously quite happily expectant! Clearly, as a woman, this is how I would like my groom to look when the time comes (in other words, hindi napipilitan!!!). I have to say that in all these weddings, the men were all very happy bridegrooms!!!

On 11 December, a friend and colleague Arlene Tuazon got married to Ado Diesmos. (Do you remember that I blogged about the belly dancing hen party for Arlene last month?) I went home for it, of course. Everything was beautiful: the church, the ceremony, the party afterwards, the entourage, the guests, the bride (of course!!!), and (sige na nga) the groom (loko lang, Ado). These days, people are so tech-y that we were even able to watch a video of the event during the party. Here's the link:

Tip. If you do not have it yet, you will have to download Quicktime 7 in order to see this video. It's easy! Go to: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

And, some of my obviously amateur-ish pictures...

And this is Trixie Martinez-Boelsch... and me. Trix has been my friend for many years now. We both started out as bond dealers. Trix at the BSP. Me at Far East, Equitable and, finally, the BIS. Of course, I had this picture taken to remember that it was nice to see Trix so dolled-up and sweet! Catching up with friends is another reason why I love weddings!
I had a lovely time. My very best wishes to Arlene and Ado! See you both in Hong Kong soon!

  3. Hi Trix, I would love to bring you to my favorite shopping haunts. I think you are two sizes smaller than me!

Hi JM, this church is in Makati. It's called Sacred Heart. I think you are referring to the San Agustin in Intramuros. I went two weddings in Bali: Dec 06 & Aug 07. The one in Aug 07 was indeed held in the little glass church overlooking the ocean!
