Belly Dancing Diva

That was the theme of Arlene Tuazon's hen party last night. We did go through some fine details. The menu was Egyptian: babaganough (roasted eggplant & lemon), hummos (chickpeas), tabbouleh (wheat, parsley salad), mashwiatt (assorted grilled meat), moza dani (braised lamb shank), samark syadiyi (sea bass in tomato sauce) with lots of falafel (bread) thrown in. Habibi promptly delivered the food at 7. We realized that the falafel was raw. Marie saved our dinner by panfrying the falafel. Left to my own devices, I would have put it all in the microwave and that would have been a disaster! Thanks, Marie!

After dinner, Carla executed a great diva makeover:

Tadah! Our belly dancing diva!

We had a number of fun games which I got from the internet. A couple of favorites: a test on "How well the bride knows her groom" and the "Never say never" game. In "Never say never", the girls take turns giving a never statement (example: "I have never had *** in a car."). Everyone who had already done that has to drink. The longer you keep the game going, the more drunk people get and the never statements become stranger and stranger!

Corrinne gave us some belly dancing lessons....

... which only made my tummy ache! (My cousin Grace caught up with us later in the evening. She quickly got into the groove too!)

We discovered some singing divas in the group! Arlene and Marie...

Bessie...

Miranda...

And... Cindy...

It was another fab party!

Thanks, DIVAS!!!
