Tell me ... is there a better way to celebrate friendship than having cheese and champagne at the Caprice on a school night?! Hardly.
Because I look Chinese, there are times when waiting at a bar for friends in HK that I, unintentionally, find myself eavesdropping on Filipinos talking loudly in Filipino thinking there are no other pinoys around. Here's an example:
Man: Di na bagay wholesome paglampas 40.
Woman: Eh, wala wholesome talaga.
Man: Ano ka ba! Live life!
Woman: Yes, I am enjoying naman.
Man: Sorry if I flirt. Repressed siguro...
Woman: You repressed? Impossible! I am the one who is repressed... by choice. Anyway... when the time is right... Bahala na si Batman.
Man: Ok. Tama. When the time is right. Teka, malapit na maubos ang time. Pangit naman kung 50 at malandi pa.
Woman: Yeah, right... (sarcastic)
Man: Ha ha sige ... Bahala na si Batman. O, good night na. Balik na ako sa BATCAVE!!!
Honestly.
