Out of the mouths of babes

Occasionally, we (or, at least, I) would come across a tweet that we just could not resist reacting to. Like this one recently:

Kilimanjaro: Don’t we look like alien dogs?”

"Daddy, Mommy, Ate Maddie, Jamie"

Me: The nice thing is Jamie thinks you are reed thin.

Kilimanjaro: Yes!

A Banana: Your head is soooo small. Especially when compared to the wife.

Me: Sorry, wife. But kids don’t lie. Or do they???!!!

Kilimanjaro: He he. The wife always has the biggest head in the house. But that does not sound right.

In this day and age when culture is evolving so quickly, and sometimes not for the better, we have to find something to hold on to that will keep us on the straight and narrow. Children have such remarkably innocent insights into life and they could, out of the blue, jolt us, adults, into sudden awareness.

We HAVE to find ways to eventually make this country (world) a peaceful, honest, and happy place for our children. The plunder of the pork barrel funds and the neglect of our brothers and sisters, both Muslim and not, in Mindanao have to stop. These have been going on, unchecked, for far too long.

If we are looking for a motto, we do not even have to be original. How about:

“My country, right or wrong; if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right.” - Carl Schurz, US Statesman (1829-1906)
