Taqueria La Venadita @ Issaquah

Comfort food. We all have it. This is food meant to be shared with family and friends. When there is no need to impress and you just want to have a casual meal with your loved ones. I am a big fan of comfort food and those entrepreneurs who are able to give us good  food at a very reasonable price.

Taqueria La Venadita is an unpretentious, authentic (as authentic as it can be outside of Mexico!) Mexican restaurant here in Issaquah where I am currently visiting my sister and her family. I arrived five days ago after a 16-hour journey. I landed at a little past 8 am in Seattle on Monday, after dropping off my luggage, I plunged into shopping... It was actually more of my nephews doing the shopping and I the paying. It's a great way to beat jetlag! In four days, my nephews have managed to go through most of the shopping money I've given them while my sister and I have bought all the "bilins". "Bilins" are stuff that family and friends asked me to buy and bring back for them. Filipinos are as big on "bilins" as with rice.

I was feeling a little low on energy on my fifth day, so, it was a relief to be able to do some carbo-loading with this yummy Burrito Milanesa @ USD7.25!!!
